Plymouth: Art in the Park

Downtown Plymouth in Michigan is one of my favorite places. I have a lot of fond memories there with family and friends. When I was younger, I was in awe of the art work at the summer show in Plymouth. I only had imagined that one day I would be displaying my art there. Well, now my dream is coming true! My mom and I will be having booths side by side to display our paintings! I will be sharing a couple of new pieces this year as well. Come see my art at booth #255.
Show details:
Art in the Park is July 11-13. Friday (11-8) Saturday (10-7) and Sunday (10-5).

A lot to be thankful for :)

Tomorrow, I am participating in an art show called 'Art at the Riverside' in Leo Indiana! I am especially excited because it's supposed to be a warm, beautiful autumn day. The show takes place in the Riverside gardens; so it should be a beautiful view with some awesome art! Sounds like fun to me. Plus, I am planning on having some visitors!  :)
I have recently started teaching art at a intermediate school in South Bend. I believe it is important to continue my profession as an artist in order to be a successful teacher. Right now, my students are doing art projects inspired by the hispanic culture.
In the next month, I am creating some cool projects for Thistleberry Farms (a pumpkin farm) in order to help them promote their business. Who knew I would be designing and painting hay bales? I have been staying busy, and am thankful I have opportunities to use my knowledge of art.

I hope to see you at the Chelsea art show!

I am excited to have my art displayed at the 'Sights & Sounds Festival' in downtown Chelsea. It was my goal for the summer to be a part of a juried art show. Having this goal has motivated me to improve my painting skills and create new paintings. I was able to create seven new pieces of art for this show! The location of the show is great since it is central to many of my family and friends in Michigan. This will also be the first time to display my paintings with my signature being my new married name :) The painting above has become my recent favorite. I enjoy the contrasting colors between the cools and warms. I believe I was able to capture how I felt about the landscape with the use of light and textures. I am encouraged by the direction my paintings are going; they appear brighter and more smooth.
